about yoga therapy
Yoga therapy is a self-empowering process, where the care-seeker, with the help of the Yoga therapist, implements a personalized and evolving Yoga practice, that not only addresses the discomfort in a multi-dimensional manner, but also aims to alleviate discomfort in a progressive, non-invasive and complementary manner. Depending upon the nature of the discomfort, Yoga therapy can not only be preventative but can also serve a means to facilitate change through working with the physical body, the mind, our behaviors, and our emotions. You do not need prior knowledge of yoga in order to participate in yoga therapy sessions.
In these sessions, we use both gentle and strengthening yoga postures with a combination of breathing exercises, meditation, and relaxation techniques to help ease discomfort. After each session, you can be given a personalized, daily practice to continue until our next session.
